Frank Registrato

After a horrible career as a second grade trumpet player, Frank started playing drums at the age of seven. He performed on the “mall organ circuit” with his Mom for a while and spent a lot of time behind the keys. His early training and exposure to a wide variety of musical genres laid the framework for his playing, arranging and song writing style.

In 1991, Registrato moved to the Orlando area to attend The University of Central Florida and audition for a position with Disney Theme Parks. While attending UCF, Frank was leader of the drum-line for the Marching Knights; a member of the ’94 Disneyland All-American College Band; held the drum-set chair with the UCF jazz lab from 1991 – 1996 and performed regularly Walt Disney World. After graduation in ‘97 Frank was offered the drum-set slot for the Kids of The Kingdom show band at The Magic Kingdom. Disney, UCF's Jazz Lab and incredible Percussion department all provided Frank with the opportunity to perform along side great musicians. He has shared the stage with Randy Brecker, Arturo Sandoval, Pete Christlieb, Steve Houghton, Dave Samuels and Frank Wess to name a few. Mr. Registrato has dedicated his life to performing, teaching and studying drums. Some of the educators he has studied with include: Beth Gottlieb, Jeff Moore, Nicko McBrain, Russ Miller, Ed Metz Jr. and R/B – Jazz Legend, Panama Francis.

In 1999, Frank headed west to play with L.A. based, Colourlust. While in L.A., he also spent three years working for The Firm, a world-class music management company. Leaving California behind, Frank returned to the Orlando area. Soon after recapturing some of his Florida heritage and spending some time with Disney and Universal, Frank linked up with monster organ player Pete Orenstein. The two performed together in a group named Kynda, lasting until ’04 when the trip headed north to Atlanta, GA.
